50 Superb Examples of Tilt-Shift Photography

Tilt-Shift Photography can be done using two methods ,one by using tilt-shift lens and other by using Photoshop masking and then applying lens blur to the image. Either its faked using Photoshop or taken using a tilt-shift lens getting a realistic miniature model scene is the whole point of it.

So what is “Tilt-shift” ? “Tilt-shift” actually encompasses two different types of movements: rotation of the lens plane relative to the image plane, called tilt, and movement of the lens parallel to the image plane, called shift. Tilt is used to control the orientation of the plane of focus (PoF), and hence the part of an image that appears sharp; it makes use of the Scheimpflug principle. Shift is used to change the line of sight while avoiding the convergence of parallel lines, as when photographing tall buildings.”Tilt-shift photography” refers to the use of camera movements on small- and medium-format cameras, and sometimes specifically refers to the use of tilt for selective focus, often for simulating a miniature scene.

If randomizing toys or objects to get a miniature scale model is not working for you and as easy as it looks ,miniature faking is the thing for you. Miniature faking is the process in which a real life photograph of a location or object is made to look like a miniature scale model.Miniature faking can be done the same way by either lens or using Photoshop.

Photos taken from a high angle can simulate the Diorama effect of looking down on a miniature world rather than closeup photography.Basic Miniature faking with Photoshop is easy.Add Saturation to the photo and Choose the area to focus , after that blur the rest of the image.
