These days the best companies introduce themselves with a logo that grabs the eye, then works subtly to communicate their business ethos and identity. This is one of the many logos that this collaborative research company has gone through in its time. The use of overlapping squares of different colours is a great depiction of different ideas and opinions coming together to create a cohesive results, which are represented by the white square in the centre.
Pangur Glass Craft
Pangur glass craft does exactly what it says on the tin – or rather, logo! These glass specialists have incorporated transparency and colour into their logo, to create an effect that is both stylish and fun.
Briteclick
Briteclick is a browser add-on that allows you to browse without leaving the page you’re on. Essentially they allow you to compile lots of different sites and information on your screen, so in this case the over-lapping ‘screens’ on the logo are quite a literal representation of the service. The use of colours here works to reflect the ‘Brite’ of the brand name, while managing to be both eye-catching and playful.
Sylion
Sylion boast that it specialises in ‘software with beautiful interfaces, engaging experiences and sophisticated simplicity’, all of which is communicated beautifully by their lion head logo. Just as with their products, the lion is made up of intricate parts to create a complex, sophisticated whole.
The Creative Company
By layering transparent circles on top of one another The Creative Company logo has a smoke-like ‘aura’ that is at once mysterious yet somehow scientific. The bold ‘C’ in the centre of this melange of delicate coloured shapes offers reassuring solidity.
Robin Rutherford, DDS
This dentist’s logo uses overlapped transparent shapes to create a tooth as well as a heart. This ensures it is both informative about the services on offer, while hinting at the level of personal care patients will receive.
Nethik
This French online agency have a pretty complex-looking logo that is intricate and yet also familiar. After looking at it for long enough one realises it is made up of eight hands pointing inwards, which reflects the way we all interact with the internet, as well as the collaboration of the agency’s staff.
Museum of London
On first glance the logo for the Museum of London appears to be a vivid blob. However, those familiar with London will appreciate it is actually a map of the city, with each transparent layer reflecting the different shapes of London over time. Clever stuff, but then what would you expect from the award-winning agency, Coley Porter Bell?
Paranaiv
While this logo is visually impressive and a great example of transparency in action, it could arguably be seen as an example of clean communication being lost in favour of style. This logo is actually for Paraniv photography, and though this is fairly difficult to read, the design somehow reminds you of negatives in a photo lab.
Agent Orange Design
On first glance this logo looks more solid that transparent, which is pretty clever. Here we can assume that the solid ‘O’ shape represents the results this design company come up with, while the transparent ‘bubbles’ represent the creativity that goes into those results. The overall effect is striking and very pleasing to the eye.
Wrapture
Wrapture make use of a play on words in their company name and a visual trick in their logo. By using transparency, the designer has made the logos central cube appear to be enveloped in coloured ribbon. Thus the subtle suggestion is made that Wrapture offer more than meets the eye.
World Moto
World Moto provide goods and services for the global transport sector and this sleek logo is a great portrayal of their aspirations and professionalism. The use of transparent shapes to create a cityscape-style design creates a very metropolitan impression. Also, the fact that it comes to a peak in the centre suggests they’re both innovative and ambitious.
North Colour
This Scottish web design and development agency boasts a logo that is both delicate and dynamic. The s-shaped graphic communicates energy and creativity and when combined with the graduated colours, the whole thing draws to mind the magic of the Northern Lights.
Double Vision Film Studios
This film studio logo is clever as well as iconic. The style of the glasses frame used carries all the cultural kudos of Buddy Holly, while the two-tone blurring effect is a clever nod to the company name.
RACE Research

Zopa
As part of the phenomenon of the Collaborative Consumption movement, Zopa offer a peer-to-peer money-lending solution, which is illustrated elegantly by this logo. The overlapping transparent circles depict how the site enables people to help each other out financially, while echoing the round elements of the text.
