Facebook has been around here for a while now and its presence has dramatically changed the way friends keep in touch or companies advertise, promote their products. You may already know Facebook recently launched its Timeline feature. When timeline was launched the majority were talking about its disadvantages. Innovative ideas has its share of criticism and hate. However I personally think just because of timeline there aren’t any security risks or other disadvantages over the old Facebook interface. You can control everybit of your personal info, by limiting it to the public.

Ticker

A new feature was introduced into Facebook along with timeline, Ticker. You can find ticker feature in home page only, i don’t see it in profile page (Timeline) anyways. Updates are shown in real time after this UI update. You can hide ticker by clicking in the upper-right corner of homepage, just in case you are annoyed by real time status updates. If you have anything more than 500 friends, it will be just an annoying feature as you wont even have time to read the updates.

Privacy

If privacy is your concern, you can manage your personal information anytime you want in facebook. Timeline page allows you do the same. If you think a status update looks inappropriate in the timeline you can hide it or even delete it.

Control Your Default Privacy

As Zuckerberg said “Timeline is the story of your life.” We have complete control on how our story should look in the timeline.

Add Status anywhere

See as i mentioned we can add a post, photo or any event to a back period. This feature may be actually important for many, as sticking dated incidents to the timeline anytime we want is possible.

Timeline is Not Default.. Yet
Facebook has yet to make timeline the default feature. Anyways once switched into this new feature of Facebook just to try out, you cant go back to the old interface. Timeline also lets you add updates and resize your post to make it the featured one.

Cover Photo Resolution

You can edit your cover photo to give your profile fresh modern look with cheeky ideas. The resolution of cover photo in Facebook timeline is 851×315 pixels. So try to keep resolution same as mentioned here in order to get quality image in cover page of your timeline.
